Job Title: Journeyman Electrician Company: Location: Birmingham, AL Description: Tech Providers Inc (TPI) is searching for a Journeyman Electrician for a long term contract position with one of our clients in Birmingham, AL. This position requires some overnight travel and on-call work for emergency electrical duties. Candidates must be able to work extended hours when required, including some nights and weekends. Primary Responsibilities include: - Monitoring mechanical and electrical support systems - Repairing electronic and electrical systems - Installing servers and other computer hardware - Installing fiber and copper network cabling - Creating and filing maintenance reports Required Skills / Experience Include: - Technical school diploma or Associates Degree in electronics or commercial and industrial electrical systems (State electrical certification preferred) - 2+ years experience in commercial and industrial electricity - Experience in AC and DC systems, emergency generators - UPS (uninterruptible power systems) experience is a "must have" - Ability to lift heavy loads (75+ pounds) - Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and work under a raised computer room floor - Valid state drivers license with good driving record - Basic aptitude toward electrical and mechanical systems - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - Experience in data center quality power systems preferred - Experience on mechanical and HVAC systems preferred This is an immediate need and all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
