The employee serves as the Electrician Supervisor and plans, lays out, coordinates, directs, assigns, reassigns, performs, and checks the work of subordinates and is responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed by both permanent and temporary employees. The employee will perform these duties in one of the Electrical Sections (day, evening, or night). Performs the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for the staff. Observes workers' performance, provides feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance. Provides advice, counsel, and/or instruction to workers related to work and administrative matters. Effects disciplinary measures as appropriate to the authority delegated in this area. Reviews and approves or disapproves leave requests. Assures that subordinates are trained and fully comply with the provisions of the safety regulations. Examples of equipment that contain the circuit-based components are: fire alarm systems, variable speed drives and electric motor starters for the HVAC systems, cafeteria and kitchen equipment (steam wells, Vulcan ovens, deep fryers, Bain Marie soup well, etc.) light dimming systems in the committee rooms, and automatic door opening systems. Performs a variety of tasks related to electrical maintenance, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair work using the hand and power tools common in the trade

Repair wiring by splicing or by bending and cutting conduit, a type of metal tubing that protects the wire. ? Use wiring diagrams, blueprints, and other building specifications to plan their repair work. ? Use tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, conduit benders, knives, drills, and meters to test voltage, ohms, and amps. ? Need to act quickly when a breakdown occurs and must be able to tell management whether the problem can be corrected and whether business can continue as usual. If regular activities must be stopped, the electrician will have to estimate how long a shutdown will last.
