Essential Function: The C Mechanic function is to perform maintenance duties across a designated cell in Production 1. Knowledge of key components and set-ups on the cell production line equipment 2. Learn key skills and equipment not mastered for the cell and facility 3. Assistance may be required on setups, changeovers, troubleshooting and repair of equipment      pieces in the specific cell 4. Gain quick turnaround results on equipment breakdown issues. Scope: This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. 1. 100% floor coverage for the designated areas. 2. Carry out adjustments, setups, and mechanical part changeovers on production machines. Support machine adjustments within machine center line settings to assist production operators in overcoming machine problems related to product quality issues. 5. Demonstrate diagnostic skills in determining mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic faults. 6. Use sources of technical support information on each line to assist with production line equipment control and operation. 7. Communicate effectively and record accurately all maintenance line issues and activities during each shift. Keep the Shift Lead, Maintenance Supervisor informed at all times where breakdown time exceeds ½ hr. for a machine or line problem and seek assistance from available peers to resolve when possible. 8. Support line production supervision and their production scheduling requirements, and be aware of the line priorities at the start of every shift. 9. Be proficient on all lines and all pieces of equipment in the designated cell area. Must be able to troubleshoot, repair and PM these equipment pieces with occasional supervision. 10. Train and coach production operators on line setups, quality issues and optimizing running conditions when required. 11. Suggest and upgrades to equipment to improve runnability. 12. Work on various production lines as required by Maintenance Management. 13. Work overtime as required including call-in for P.M. downs. 14. Be available for an emergency call-in to work an additional shift due to sickness or absence of another Line Technician. A 2 hr. standby period only will be expected when scheduled for emergency call-in. That standby time will be between 6 and 8 o'clock (depending if days or nights). Only night Technicians will be called in on nights and day Technicians on days. 15. Remain on the production lines for shift hand over's for ¼ hr. into the next shift to pass on information not necessarily recorded on the line report sheets to the next Line Technician coming in.. An additional ½ hr. of pay will be given to compensate for this additional commitment. 16. Undertake additional training, as the Company may deem necessary.
