SUMMARY CSS Farms has an immediate opening for an Equipment Maintenance Manager at our farm in Columbus, NE. This is a position that offers the opportunity to work for the Farm Manager of a 1,300 acre plus potato farm in East Central Nebraska. CSS Farms is a diverse farming operation. We are a rapidly growing company with operations in five states – NE, TX, FL, CA, and CO. The Nebraska farm specializes in chipping potato production. CSS Farms is one of Frito-Lay’s largest suppliers of chip potatoes in North America. RELATIONSHIPS  - This position reports to the Farm Manager.  - The manager will work closely with other members of the team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  - Accountable for all equipment and facilities management to ensure the execution of cost effective and timely maintenance.  - Maintenance, repair, and calibration of all field equipment and center pivot irrigation systems.  - Maintenance and repair of all shipping and load out equipment and buildings.  - Troubleshooting and resolving new and/or different technical problems regarding equipment.  - Manage all parts and inventory.  - Assist with all equipment sourcing and purchasing.  - Direct, coordinate, and support maintenance personnel.  - Develop and implement safety program and assure all state and federal requirements are met such as OSHA.  - Maintain necessary records for maintenance and scheduling.  - Assist with budget preparation.  - Assist with planting, harvest, and shipping functions as necessary. EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – SKILLS  - Potato equipment experience preferred but not required.  - AAS or BS degree in an agricultural related field (preferred but not required).  - 4 or more years of agriculture, farm equipment, and management experience preferred.  - Irrigation system experience.  - Ability to understand and operate computerized equipment and computer software – including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc.  - Flexible schedule depending on the season.  - Some overnight travel possible.  - Excellent written and oral communication skills.  - Superior organizational skills with the ability to look ahead and anticipate problems.  - Experience in leading and managing people.  - Valid Nebraska driver’s license and eligibility for vehicle insurance required.  - Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required  - Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. to be considered for this position. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and layouts. Estimate time, materials and costs on projects. Responsible for the operation and maintenance budget of the Grand Island Veterans' Home. Responsible for maintaining supply and inventory records of all equipment and maintain records for cost history analysis. REQUIREMENTS: Experience with responsibility for planning, directing, implementing or evaluating facilities management. Experience/education or training performing duties in the field of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and grounds. Strongly prefer experience in automated facilities management systems and strong computer skills. Significant supervisory experience is required with an emphasis on hiring practices, discipline, performance evaluations, teamwork, leadership and maintenance management.
