Includes cleaning filters and replacing as needed, checking refrigerant levels, and confirming accuracy of temperature gauges. Plumbing: Assembles, installs, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on Institute facilities including, but not limited to: pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures of heating, water, and sewer systems. Must have basic understanding of applicable plumbing codes. Carpentry: Maintains, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on Institute facilities including, but not limited to: floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding forms, wood fixtures, and furniture. Maintains on-call/as needed availability for emergencies and projects. QUALIFICATIONS: High school/vocational school diploma or equivalent and formal training and/or apprenticeship in a recognized program. Minimum of 5 years related work experience in the practice, methods, tools, equipment, and materials of the above specified trade. Valid driver's license required. Certificate in EPA refrigerant recovery required. Capable of using all tools, meters and gauges pertaining to building maintenance. Ability to work well with others.
