Perform maintenance steps to accomplish repairs will include disassembling, removing and replacing worn/ damaged/defective part(s), adjusting, reassembling and testing using applicable technical documentation.- Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions in hydraulic systems common to all "Stryker" or unique to variants of the "Stryker" vehicle.- Complete maintenance and administrative forms and other paperwork related to performance of duties.- Two (2) to 5 years of experience. (Equivalent military service acceptable)- Documented trade school, certificated technical training, commercial training and/or experience acceptable.- Military school trained electrical systems and/or wheel vehicle mechanic (such as US Army MOSs 45 series, 63 series or USMC MOSs 2147, 3521, 3522, 3524) preferred.- Experience on HMMWV, Stryker, LAV 2.5 or LAV III desirable.- Read and interpret troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures and flow diagrams for systems, subsystems and components.- Skilled in computer operation and Microsoft operating systems. Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic De Company: Location: Anchorage, AK Description: The incumbent travels extensively in Alaska to perform skilled trades and crafts work in construction, maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of National Weather Service facilities and equipment.  At job sites, buys materials, rents equipment, works with laborers and craftsmen.  Work involves carpentry, painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing, heating systems, and other general construction work.  The emphasis of this position is on the carpentry trade, but work will also include other trades.  Some tasks involve heavy lifting and hard work in harsh environments.Special Conditions:  Will be required to work overtime, and will spend up to 75% of time in travel status.  Also the work requires a considerable amount of standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and/or uncomfortable positions.  The incumbent may work from ladders and scaffolding.  The incumbent may operate equipment that vibrates and/or causes strain due to reaching, bending, turning, and movement of hands, arms, feet and legs.  The incumbent carries, lifts, and handles materials and equipment weighing up to and sometimes exceeding 50 pounds.  The incumbent will operate a government vehicle, which will require a valid state or territory driver's license.

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Company: Location: Elmendorf AFB, AK Description: Perform journeyman level work in constructing, installing, repairing, and modifying wood and wood substitute structures and items requiring close tolerance fit and structural soundness, and performing the full range of painting, including surface preparation, blending and matching paints, and coating of various surfaces requiring finishes and decorative effects.  Perform minor roofing repairs.  Plan and lay out work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and work orders in the construction and maintenance of installation facilities.  Review work orders requirements and visit worksite and analyze, evaluate, and determine structural damage when planning repair and modification projects.  Independently apply skilled carpentry methods and techniques and advanced shop mathematics to construct, install, repair, and modify a wide variety of structures, such as building frames, rafters, concrete forms, walls, staircases, door and window frames, and interior and exterior trim.  Prepare various surfaces of buildings by mechanically and chemically removing old paint and rust, filling cracks, sanding, and applying filters and base coats.  Apply skilled methods and techniques in paint preparation and coating applications to include mixing, thinning, blending, matching, tinting, and toning coating materials.  Set up, adjust, and operate spray painting equipment and other power painting equipment.  Assist in repairing and installing roofs consisting of asphalt, tile, slate roll roofing, felts, and shingles.  Removes and replaces sections of old, damaged, rotted, or deteriorated roofs.  Repair leaks in roofs and installs new roofing as required.   ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  This announcement may be used to fill one or more vacancies. Job Title: Surface Maintenance Mechanic Company: Location: Fort Richardson, AK Description: Troubleshoots, performs maintenance and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles. Troubleshoots, repairs and overhauls major systems to include internal combustion engines, turbine engines, automatic and non-automatic transmissions, heavy duty drive line systems, and hydraulic utility systems and controls. Makes repairs to assemblies and components such as voltage regulators, generators/alternators, brake cylinders, etc. Performs work in accordance with modification work orders, technical manuals, lubrication orders, maintenance bulletins, regulations or management policies. May repair a variety of more complex major systems to include engines, cross drive or similar multi-system transmissions and a variety of intricate fuel injection systems. Troubleshoots equipment and diagnoses the cause of mechanical failures by means of visual and auditory checks and/or uses test equipment such as engine analyzers, compression testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, pressure gauges, and computer diagnostic tools. Utilizes embedded diagnostics in equipment and a wide variety of original equipment manufacturer system analyzers in order to determine the exact nature or extent of repair. Determines what adjustments may be necessary to complete work orders, and whether any additional repairs other than those specified or indicated on the work order are necessary. Removes and disassembles engines and major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and fuel, hydraulic, and oil pressure systems. Makes the appropriate repairs, overhaul, or modifications in accordance with the proper repair specifications and procedures. Reassembles engines and other systems, and adjusts, tests, and reinstalls in vehicles and equipment as necessary. Makes adjustments and repairs to electrical and suspension systems. May install pistons, sleeves, rings, bearings, rods, crankshafts, timing gears, and rocker arms. May be required to perform fuel injection equipment repair, overhaul, rebuild, and calibration duties utilizing a variety of complex test and calibration equipment. Independently performs repairs and maintenance functions in remote locations that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems such as injectors, leaking wheel cylinders, corroded mufflers, fuel tanks, brake cylinders and worn brake shoes, voltage regulators, generators, injector pumps, and fuel pumps.
