The FSE's training will be geared to having the FSE take overall responsibility covering different tool sets. The individual's ability to learn the various tool sets, specifications, maintenance, preventative maintenance, requirements, and associated duties will determine how quickly this will occur. These activities must be performed in a safe and efficient manner. Some of the work will be performed inside a cleanroom, where special clothing (cleanroom suit, glove, hood, etc.) and rules apply. This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, in addition to the skill-set and experience requirements listed below. The FSE must also be a strong self-starter and be capable of working with minimal supervision. This critical role also requires a high skill level of time management, enabling the employee to manage multiple clients and meet the requirements of contractual maintenance agreements. The FSE should also be able to develop and maintain effective customer relationships while acknowledging the need for 24 x 7 customer support. Scope of Duties: The Field Service Engineer's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: error recovery; troubleshooting; root cause analysis; repair; corrective, preventative, and emergency maintenance, and/or adjustments necessary to keep the equipment at maximum performance and capability. In addition, as additional expertise is needed as an incident is escalated, the FSE will be the person responsible for responding. At times this may require overtime to cover the overlaps, coverage gaps, etc. Duties also include all reporting, tracking, procedures, processes, standards, and paperwork compliance in order to provide such support in a repeatable and organized manner. All work performed will be conducted in a safe, organized, clean, and efficient manner. The ability to work at heights on a ladder (10' to 14') on overhead equipment is a mandatory requirement. The FSE will also be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, the conditions of the shop, work areas, tool boxes, parts, etc. used for installation/ repair/ maintenance at their site.
