Plan and implement preventive and predictive maintenance procedures on packaging equipment. Identify and prioritize maintenance work in the packaging areas and plan the execution of this work. Responsible for maintaining CMMS systems for preventive maintenance, inspection routines, spare parts inventory control and work scheduling. Responsible for correcting unsafe work practices when identified. Responsible for managing maintenance activities in cost-effective manner that are in accordance with budgetary constraints. This position is responsible for managing resources in an efficient way while ensuring the behaviors support the manufacturing work teams and align to the plant’s culture, vision, and values. In addition, this position is required to take on significant responsibilities related to people such as recruitment, workforce administration, training, performance management, and other activities that relate to people management. • Ensures the maintenance department operates within the company, state, and federal guidelines for safety and environmental issues. • Analyze performance data in order to identify opportunities to improve OEE. • Maintain effective preventive program in order to improve production efficiency and ensure optimum machine time availability • Evaluate and prioritize requested maintenance staff work requests and F-tags. • Organize monthly team meetings to review relevant performance data and reinforce core competencies in order to maximize performance. • Review plant production equipment environment (technology, systems, quality, cost, efficiency) in order to recommend process improvements. • Record and analyze plant equipment performance data using design and performance specifications to ensure optimum machine reliability. • Develop and implement technical training programs in order to improve the technical skills of maintenance technicians. • Measure the use of equipment spare parts by tracking spare parts transactions through use of AMMS. • Perform on-the-job inspections to ensure safe working habits, safe working areas, quality of workmanship, and effectiveness of maintenance and repairs. • Provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel • Manage projects, as well as the field modification, fabrication, and installation of equipment. • Champion TPM objectives in accordance with site master plan • Continuous development and mentoring of associates focusing on technical training and team effectiveness skills. Lead and motivate employees in all areas including safety, efficiency, loss management, quality, and continuous improvement. Challenges • Evolve maintenance posture from reactive to proactive • Manage and maintain appropriate levels inventory, while considering the trade off between working capital reduction and risk of equipment downtime. • Maintain efficient maintenance activities while keeping within budget requirements. • Analyze failure modes and investigate causes for repeat failures to identify and correct root causes. • Continue to build the capability of maintenance technicians. • A major challenge of this job will be to manage the people activities under the new HRT model while still delivering all other required responsibilities. Scope The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for preventive and day to day maintenance activities for a manufacturing site with: • 300+ employees. • 18 production lines • 9 compounding ramps • 23 mechanics and 1 maintenance planner Minimum Requirements - Bachelors degree in any disciple - 3-5 years supervisory experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment. - Maintenance experience to include pneumatics, controls, automation, electrical, CMMS, TPM, SPC, PLC, other mechanical systems. -Must have experience in a Continuous Improvement methodology (TPM is preferred). - Experience with packaging equipment in consumer products is preferred. Competencies - Ability to coach others and to transfer knowledge and capabilities. Strong facilitation skills. Communicate and work effectively with all members of plant team. - Utilize improvement methodologies for root cause analysis. - Demonstrate project management skills to lead teams in reliability improvement efforts. - Align work plan with plant strategy and goals of high performing work teams.
