Job Title: Service Technician
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Summary
Service Technicians are responsible for performing repair, assembly, and/or electrical-mechanical testing of medical devices. Working as part of a team, technicians follow documented procedures, maintain quality standards, and accurately record service activities. This role may also support shipping, receiving, packaging, assembly, and other operational functions as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all environmental, health, safety, and quality procedures and work instructions.
- Perform repair, assembly, and testing of medical devices according to established processes.
- Document findings and service activities in company systems.
- Maintain workflow efficiency and support production goals.
- Interpret test results and device readings, escalating issues when necessary.
- Rotate through various operational areas including assembly, repair, testing, shipping preparation, and spare parts handling.
- Assist with employee training when required.
- Perform inspections and quality checks as assigned.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment to assemble and disassemble products.
- Operate testing equipment and perform functional verification of devices.
- Conduct calibration activities on test stations and equipment as required.
- Package finished products and prepare shipments.
- Receive incoming products and materials.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, workstations, and devices using approved cleaning solutions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to enter data and navigate multiple systems.
- Basic math skills.
- Experience using hand tools such as screwdrivers and pliers is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with testing equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers, and pressure gauges is a plus.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and up to 42 lbs in shipping-related functions.
- Ability to work with cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in electrical-mechanical assembly, repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, manufacturing, production, testing, or quality inspection is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, mechanical equipment, or electronic testing equipment is a plus.
