What this job involves:
This union position is responsible for operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment and systems in assigned facilities. The role focuses on ensuring efficient equipment operation, minimizing downtime, and performing repairs on both interior and exterior areas of the property. The Mobile Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining safe, energy-efficient facilities and responding to various maintenance needs. Strong technical expertise in at least one craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, Central Utility Plant Operations, Material Handling Equipment) and multi-skill capability in others is expected.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facility mechanical, electrical, and other systems
- Operating and maintaining HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment
- Conducting facility inspections and reporting on conditions affecting client operations
- Complying with safety procedures and maintaining good housekeeping practices
- Utilizing CMMS systems like Corrigo for all work performed
- Updating work order status in real-time and submitting P-card receipts daily
- Attending work and safety meetings as required
- Performing on-call duties as needed
Desired experience and technical skills:
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, with strong background in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair and maintenance
- Universal CFC recovery certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs., climb ladders up to 30 feet, and work in adverse conditions
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Availability for on-call work
Preferred:
- Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in relevant craft skills
- 3rd Party Certification
- Knowledge of overall MEP/HVAC system design and applications
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
- Experience with building automation systems and fire/life safety systems
