Role Purpose Statement

The job incumbent ensures the facility and equipment maintenance and fleet management of the responsible Market Customer Service Centers (CSCs) in accordance with local and LSG Sky Chefs regulations. He/she is responsible for the departments budget, manpower planning and building repairs. Furthermore, he/she tracks all work assignments, labour, materials and spare parts inventory, sets work standards and evaluates the performance of all maintenance employees in the area of responsibility.

Main Accountabilities

Maintenance and/or Fleet Management
Direct the activities of the Facility Maintenance and/or the Fleet department for the Market
Ensure all buildings and vehicles in the responsible CSC(s) are properly maintained and meet United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT)
Negotiate with outside contractors and vendors concerning facility and fleet maintenance
Monitor and assess the maintenance service provided by facility companies and mechanics
Create maintenance schedules for the responsible CSC(s) and monitor its implementation and status
Inform and train the CSC(s) staff about the correct use of the facilities, equipment and trucks
Monitor systems for proper use of equipment and vehicles: Simba, Telogis (GPS) and CCTV.
Support all capital projects involving buildings, equipment and vehicles in cooperation with the Headquarters Operational Excellence team and the General Manager
Ensure proper licensing and insurance requirements for all vehicles and other regulatory requirements
Support the market in development and deployment of Strategic direction of the Market with the focus on facilities and vehicles.
Strategically plan, organize, and manage the Facilities Department with regards to daily hours, schedules, productivity, quality and safety.
Responsible for department costs to budget through effective manpower planning, scheduling and overtime usage
Participate in customer quality issues, develop and implement corrective actions that involve maintenance.
Maintain an ongoing, positive and pro-active relationship with all internal and external customers
Attend the daily operations briefing
Safety, Policies and Procedures
Monitor and ensure compliance with customer safety and equipment policies and procedures
Provide a safe environment by promoting safety initiatives
Reduce safety hazards by ensuring maintenance staff create safe tools, equipment, remove unsafe equipment, etc.
Leadership
Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed
Guide, motivate and develop the subordinate employees within the Human Resources Policy
Participates in coaching the expanded Global Performance System (GPS) process, as well as additional career development activities to enhance the effectiveness and potential of the team
Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s)
Plan / Implement and control the cost budget in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Global Quality Standards (GQS), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Bachelors degree or equivalent knowledge required
In addition, five to seven years of related work experience required
Proven analytical and leadership skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results and achieve budget
Working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA and Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) regulations
Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required combined with an aptitude for multi-tasking
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer application
