Full-Time - Parks Maintenance Worker

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Performs landscape and field maintenance duties such as planting, watering, fertilizing, cultivating, mowing, tree cutting, pruning, string trimming, edging, blowing, raking, dragging fields, etc.
• Performs general maintenance of building facilities, including, but not limited to, repairing damages, replacing lightbulbs, window repair, painting/staining, and addresses other related building necessities.
• Paints County restroom and concession buildings.
• Chemical/herbicide application.
• Inspects buildings to identify problems or safety hazards.
• Assists other crews/departments with special projects and/or events.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of county and department regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of proper and current landscape and shrub practices and techniques.
• Knowledge of proper and current athletic field maintenance practices and techniques.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety requirements.
• Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of the use, maintenance, and repair of hand tools and equipment related to building and landscape/field maintenance work.
• Knowledge of traffic hazards, safety principles, rules, regulations, and speed limits.
• Skill in painting.
• Skill in the use and maintenance of landscape/field equipment.
• Skill in the use of custodial equipment and tools.
• Skilled in clear and effective written and oral communication.
• Driven, self-motivated, responsible, and takes initiative.
