Overview
Electrical maintenance of steel mill equipment.
Responsibilities- Troubleshooting electrical equipment problems.
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, project work and installation of electrical equipment.
- Assist mechanics and operators with daily maintenance and ensure work is done safely.
- Electrical equipment includes but is not limited to: Control systems (PLCs), motors and drives (VFDs), lighting, and power distribution.
- At least 1 year working as an electrician or technician in an industrial environment.
- Experienced in safely working on systems up to 480V.
- Basic knowledge of power distribution, AC motors, and motor control.
- Experience in complex relay control circuits and/or PLCs.
- Skilled at troubleshooting, problem solving, and installation of electrical equipment.
- At least 5 years of hands on experience with the equipment described above in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years working as an electrician or technician in an industrial environment preferred.
- Experienced in safely working on systems up to and including 345kV preferred.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of Allen Bradley or GE PLCs and drives preferred.
- Applicant must possess at least one of the following:
- Electrical/industrial technology certificate or degree
- Technical military training related to electrical theory and maintenance
