Maintenance Mechanic

  • Conduct routine inspections of hospital buildings, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance needs.
  • Perform minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry repairs as assigned.
  • Respond to maintenance requests promptly and document completed work.
  • Maintain and repair hospital furnishings, fixtures, doors, and windows
  • Assist with installation and relocation of equipment and furniture.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and infection control protocols.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance programs and maintain accurate records.
  • Complies with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos and other hazardous substances.
  • High School or Trade/vocational School graduate with relevant hospital/healthcare experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems, tools, and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good physical condition; able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks
  • Knowledge of OSHA and healthcare safety regulations a plus.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
