Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift
Full-Time Support Staff (Level 10)
Hourly Rate: $17.07 (rate includes 5% shift differential)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position reports to Building Maintenance Supervisor
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2pm to 10:30pm
This position is open until filled.
- This position requires a pre-employment drug screening test as a condition of employment.
BASIC PURPOSE:
To inspect, maintain and repair essential equipment in and around campus
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist carpenter, electrician, and HVAC team, as needed.
- Assemble/move furniture as needed; classroom items, rest room or common area items, and items around the exterior of campus.
- Patch and paint damaged or repaired interior areas; install floor and ceiling tiles; perform minor repair to hardware.
- Performs plumbing tasks; troubleshoot/repair automatic faucets and flushers; clear clogged drains.
- Performs basic preventive maintenance tasks, such as changing water/air filters, replacing/adjusting belts, and lubrication of moving parts.
- Perform snow removal duties and actions to protect students, staff, and property during inclement weather.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Education/Training/Work Experience:
- High school diploma, GED, and 1-2 years of work related experience required
- Valid PA Driver's License required
Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
- Must be physically capable of performing all duties on job description
- Must be able to communicate effectively
Additional Information Required:
- Ability to read, write, and follow routine instructions
- Ability to work within a team oriented setting
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in all climates and in all types of weather.
- Must be able to perform repetitive movements.
- Must be able to carry 80 lb. loads and support weight in sometimes awkward positions.
- Must be able to climb stairs and walk all areas of the campus.
- Must be able to identify colors.
