JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
CATEGORY: EXEMPT
SUMMARY : The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for identifying the repair and/or replacement needs throughout the Club; providing necessary information on the proper uses of Club equipment; maintaining heating/air conditioning systems, and ensuring adequate materials are available to complete assignments in a timely manner.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with maintenance management and other vendors to complete projects/work orders efficiently. Diagnose problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning / refrigeration systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and replacement needs.
- Repair various items, systems and/or components (e.g., electronic control devices, sensors, switches, compressors, water boilers, pumps, tanks, etc.) to ensure that items are available and in safe working condition.
- Request equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure availability of required items.
- Adapt to changing work priorities; be attentive to detail; communicate with all departments; display mechanical aptitude; meet deadlines and schedules; set priorities; and work with detailed information.
- Respond to emergency situations by resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Maintain tools and/or equipment to ensure that their availability is in safe operating condition when needed.
- Estimate materials and/or equipment needed to complete work projects to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Install heating/air conditioning/refrigeration equipment and systems to maintain comfort inside facilities.
- Monitor Facility Dude for upcoming tasks; prioritize tasks in order of urgency.
- Document all repair work for accurate record keeping for future reference.
- Perform routine monthly review of eyewash stations and fire extinguishers throughout the Club to maintain and ensure they are fully functional at all times.
- Keep track of and maintain all painting supplies for the Club.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Possess excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with members and staff on all levels in a professional, positive, and friendly manner.
- Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions; ability to read blueprints helpful.
- Ability to work all shifts days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of Facility Dude software a plus.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English; Bilingual a plus.
- Ability to operate golf carts.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years experience in facilities maintenance
- Heavier experience in air conditioning, basic electrical, and plumbing preferred
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma/GED
- Current CPR/First Aid certifications required, or willing to be certified onsite through RHCC
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, climb, push, and/or carry items up to 25 lbs., up to and over 50 lbs. with assistance
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Handle hazardous materials such as solvents and gasoline
- Ability to operate power tools and machinery, such as power washers
- Able to work with electricity, such as lighting fixture replacements
- Ability to work on ladders up to 20 high
- Ability to move about freely in a multi-floor building
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors, in many weather/temperature conditions
