Maintenance Worker

1. Physical ability to perform all job functions. 2. Supervisory skills and/or experience preferred. 3. Effective interpersonal communication skills. 4. Ability to lift and carry eighty (80) pounds. 5. Functionally literate. Supervised by and reports to: Superintendent/Building Administrator Job Goal: To maintain and/or repair all equipment of the physical plant. Responsibilities: (Not in order of importance) 1. To work with custodians in maintaining safe and attractive buildings and grounds (i.e., playground, walks, windows, etc.). 2. To inspect and replace/repair District mechanical and electrical equipment. 3. To establish and maintain an effective line of communication with administration, staff members, students, and the public. 4. To maintain all district mechanical/electrical systems except school buses, (i.e., grease, oil, change filters, etc.). 5. To identify and communicate major maintenance needs to the Superintendent/Building Administrator/Business Manager. 6. To inform the building administrator immediately, of any situation that may be hazardous to students and employees. ,_ 7. . To perform work orders for repairs, etc., that are initiated, by the custodial staff. 8. . To make sure rooms and buildings are locked to maintain security after working in an area. 9. To make recommendations for the summer work schedule. ' 10. To maintain an inventory and safe storage of necessary parts and supplies. . 11. To make sure all sidewalks and entrances are clear of snow and ice as assigned. 12. To perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Building Principal and/or the Business Manager. 13. Be aware of all OSHA requirements. 14. To maintain the confidentiality of the position. Terms of Employment: As set by the Board of Trustees.
