Weyerhaeuser's Wood Products manufacturing facility in Millport, AL has an opportunity for individuals to join our Industrial Maintenance team as an experienced Millwright on our Weekend Operations shift supporting the sawmill and planer mill. A successful candidate will have at least 2 years of prior industrial maintenance experience, mechanical aptitude and be willing and eager to invest time and energy in training. Including self-study on their own time to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to be an industrial maintenance mechanic.
The Weekend shift is scheduled as follows:
Friday through Sunday
5:00 PM to 6:30 AM
We are offering a $3,000 hiring bonus!!!
This role offers an hourly wage up to $42.00 plus a $3.00 per hour adder for weekends and $1.00 per hour adder for night shift.
Key Functions:
The successful candidate will participate in self-study and on-the-job training to enable them to perform the following maintenance functions:
Highly skilled mechanical maintenance tasks including installation
Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment. This may include, but not limited to, such equipment as motors, pneumatic, hydraulic and conveyor systems
In downtime situations, must be able to analyze the cause of breakdown with equipment
Must also determine and carry out maintenance of repair actions required to return the equipment to effective operating conditions
Must lubricate and clean parts, perform maintenance planning, layout work, welding and metal fabrication as required
Follow and adhere to safety lockout procedures and strictly adhere to plant safety rules as well as follow excellent housekeeping practices to help maintain a clean work environment
Must be proficient in the use of hand and power tools and precision measuring and test instruments
Experienced in pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems
Excellent skills in root cause analysis
Skilled in all aspects of mechanical maintenance
All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Stable employment history with a minimum of (2) two years of experience in the Industrial Maintenance field OR equivalent education to include vocational/technical school certificate
Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
Good communication skills
Must be team oriented
Commitment to following all unit electrical/maintenance practices
Willingness to work any shift (day or night), including weekends and holidays
Willingness and ability to wear all required personal protective equipment
Ability to work in extreme heat and cold
Willingness and ability to learn new jobs and skills
Willingness to work in Millport, AL without requiring relocation assistance

Past employment experience in a manufacturing environment
Past employment in a wood manufacturing facility
