Job Description
PRG Scenic Technologies seeks individuals with Carpentry and/or Welding skills. On the job training is available for candidates with entry level experience. Position will offer the opportunity to join the IATSE union after a 90-day probationary period.
Qualifications- Self-Motivated.
- Team Oriented.
- Strong Organizational Skills.
- Understanding of basic shop safety terminology.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to operate shop power tools.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Foundational Math skills.
- Fabrication experience with various types of materials including wood, plastic, steel, aluminum, and paints, a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, develop cut sheets, layout and fabricate, a plus.
- Understanding of basic Theatre terminology, a plus.
- Ability to operate Mig or Tig welding experience, a plus.
- Ability to maintain quality standards as directed by Shop Team Leaders and Technicians
Physical demands
- Ability to operate shop power tools.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Foundational Math skills.
- Fabrication experience with various types of materials including wood, plastic, steel, aluminum, and paints, a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, develop cut sheets, layout and fabricate, a plus.
- Understanding of basic Theatre terminology, a plus.
- Mig or Tig welding experience, a plus.
- Ability to maintain quality standards as directed by Shop Team Leaders and Technicians.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Availability to work overtime during peak seasons
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis
- Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing or moving. Physical activities include frequent use of hand tools, bending, stooping, lifting, climbing stairs, carrying, walking and/or reaching regularly
- Ability to work with warehouse and material handling equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts and other such equipment.Certifications are a plus.
- Fluency in English
The pay range for this position is dictated by the CBA. Minimum pay required 23.89/hour. Actual rate will be determined by the experience, knowledge and skills of the applicant.
