Commercial Locksmith Technician

No previous locksmith experience is required. Looking for a field technician that has previous experience in installation of door hardware, doors, hinges, frames, etc. Must be proficient with power and hand tools, diagram and template reading, problem-solving, and diagnosing of mechanical and electronic components. Job range varies from small installs to large, multi-building projects.

Technician will be responsible for completing assigned work typically dealing with fresh installation or replacement of door locks, panic bars, door closers, stand-alone access control units, security plates, and hinges. Rekeying, master keying, duplication of keys, picking locks, originating keys, programming keypads, drilling locks, and emergency lockouts will also be expected. 

This includes a training period with a licensed locksmith for 2-6 months based on skill level and need. The technician will be responsible for applying for their own apprentice license through the State of North Carolina and will under-go a background check. 

Technician will be put into a monthly, on-call rotation where they can earn up to 50% commission on work done after-hours. 

There are also specialized fields within locksmiths that can be pursued for more opportunities such as: Safes, automotive locksmiths, and access control.
