We are looking for a Industrial Electrician interested in a career with a top ranked and growing snack company, to join our Maintenance team at PIM's Somerset site in New Jersey.

JOB OVERVIEW

Primary responsibility is to keep all facilities equipment, production equipment and the building in safe and working order

To troubleshoot, maintain, repair and/or replace (whole or in part) all equipment, machinery, apparatus, electronic components and electrical systems so that the production of quality goods is uninterrupted or with minimal down time

Interacts with plant management, shift supervisors, production supervisors, sanitation and warehouse supervisors

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshoot electrical problems

Provide preventive, predictive and repair maintenance

Report food safety and quality issues to Plant management and SQFP

Follow PIM Brands GMP rules

Monitor fellow employees for adherence to GMPs.

Plan and execute assignments within the guidelines of instruction provided by supervisory personnel

Install equipment as directed

Immediately reports electrical or equipment problems to plant and/or mechanical supervisors

Performs all functions in a safe and cautious manner

Immediately reports all safety concerns to plant manager and/or mechanical supervisors

Ensures that maintenance to all electrical equipment is completed and complies with customer specifications, and ensures that food safety and quality are not jeopardized by complying with all GMP and HAACP Guidelines as well as SOPs

Ensures maintenance of electrical equipment complies with desired processing rates

Ability to work additional hours as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, lifting, climbing, pushing and pulling. Must be able to closely examine equipment, machinery and parts. Must have dexterity necessary to work with tools and small parts. Able to lift at least 50lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be considered and evaluated that assist individuals perform the essential functions of the job. Physically capable to do heavy labor work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Job will generally be performed in the manufacturing plant. When on the plant floor it is representative of a large, busy manufacturing operation. Noisy, active, objects on the floor, constant movement and traffic flow of motorized equipment. Stationary and moving equipment is located throughout the plant. Work on machinery and equipment may present cramped or close quarters. Hair net, beard net, assigned work uniform, protective eye wear and gloves are among the GMP required apparel that must be worn, if indicated, on the plant floor.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

High School education or equivalent is strongly preferred

Electrical training is strongly preferred from a trade or vocational school.

4 years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial complex is necessary

Must have prior experience maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and electronic equipment

Must be familiar with troubleshooting and programming techniques for plc's, electromechanical sensors and controllers

Thorough knowledge of automated machinery operations, pump theory, pneumatic principles, hydraulic principles, applications and repair is required

Must have experience with reading and interpreting electrical schematics and be able to work safely with low and high voltage circuits

Basic knowledge of typical facility and manufacturing support systems, including steam, hot water, compressed air and refrigeration systems is needed

A solid electrical background is highly desired

Must provide your own tools and lockable toolbox that includes wrenches, screwdrivers, basic electrical testers (meter, voltage tester) hammer, flashlight, etc.

Willing to be trained.

Ability to read, speak, and write English is required

Pay

The pay range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000. PIM Brands takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs
