About the Role
As an Assistant Community Maintenance Supervisor at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in supporting maintenance operations to ensure the safety, functionality, and appeal of our apartment community.
This position combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities. Youll work closely with the Community Maintenance Supervisor, vendors, and the rest of the maintenance and property management teams to deliver high-quality upkeep, timely repairs, and excellent customer service for residents. This is a full-time, onsite role based at FLATZ 520 in Maricopa, AZ .
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in well-maintained spaces, and is ready to step into a leadership role.
What Youll Do
Perform and schedule daily maintenance tasks, including unit turns and preventative maintenance
Diagnose and repair minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance, and pool-related issues
Assist with onboarding, training, scheduling, and supervision of maintenance team members
Maintain cleanliness and curb appeal of grounds, common areas, and amenities
Monitor inventory and supply levels; help ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
Communicate with residents to resolve maintenance concerns promptly and professionally
Support inspections, vendor coordination, and compliance tracking
Who You Are
Minimum 2 years of experience in apartment or facilities maintenance
Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school training a plus
Skilled in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair
Comfortable using property management software (Yardi preferred) and basic computer tools
Strong communication, time management, and customer service skills
EPA Universal Certification and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred
Valid drivers license and eligibility to work in the U.S.
