HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE WORKER 2 - Underfill - Austin

The Position

Highway Maintenance Workers are certified by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to operate a variety of complex or specialized highway maintenance and construction equipment in order to restore and maintain the integrity of roadway surfaces; maintain roadside slopes, shoulders, culverts and ditches to restore drainage and prevent erosion; and repair or replace related roadway appurtenances such as guardrails, markers, guide posts and fences.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION. PLEASE MARK YOU HAVE ONE YEAR OF EXPERIENCE PERFORMING BASIC HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE TO PROCEED TO APPLICATION.

Underfill for Highway Maintenance Worker 3 located in Austin, NV. Crew performs routine maintenance including snow/ice removal, shoulder/appurtenance repair & maintenance, emergency response for accidents, flood, and hazards to provide traffic control. This crew maintains over 250 lane miles, including US 50, SR 305, and SR 722. The Summits include 7195' & 7484' in elevation, requiring regular attention to remove or mitigate snow and ice. INCUMBENT MAY PROGRESS TO THE NEXT LEVEL AFTER MEETING THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE, AND WITH APPROVAL OF THE APPOINTING AUTHORITY.
