Facility Maintenance Mechanic

General Description:
We are looking to hire a full-time all-around Facility Mechanic for our automated pallet assembly plant in Newark. Five Star Lumber Co. LLC is a small family-owned company in business for over 44 years assembling new wooden pallets. The focus of the Facility Mechanic is to maintain the nailing equipment and the forklift fleet in good working condition to minimize downtime and improve efficiency of the plant operation.

Essential Duties:
*Maintain and keep all Nailing Machines, Air Compressors and Forklifts in good working order.
*Ability to troubleshoot all electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues on all equipment.
*Inspect and maintain all safety switches and controls to comply with company safety policies.
*Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to keep it in good working order.
*Keep and maintain PM records on all work as needed.
*Maintain a safe, clean and efficient maintenance shop at all times. We provide the tools.
*Maintain and order equipment parts on a regular basis.
*Ability to effectively communicate with the management team as well as the production team on issues.

Qualifications and Job requirements:
*Experience in electrical troubleshooting, mechanical repair, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.
*Experience in welding and repair. Some fabrication as well.
*Physical exertion required including walking, standing, stooping, bending, and the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
*Must be able to work in a cold and hot environment.
*Detail oriented and ability to work independently as well as a team player.
*Speak Spanish and English proficiently.
*3-5 years' experience as a mechanic.
*Must have a valid Drivers License and a car.

Compensation:
*Wages between $30.00 to $33.00/hour based on experience.
*Monthly Health Allowance for medical and dental.
*Annual performance bonus.
*Holiday pay, Sick pay and Vacation pay.
