Building Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician is entrusted with ensuring the general upkeep and efficiency of the property, overseeing maintenance systems to guarantee optimal operations and tenant satisfaction in line with department protocols. Responsibilities Complete work orders for tasks related to physical maintenance and repairs of assigned buildings using work order software. Implement routine physical improvements as required. Respond to emergency situations following departmental protocols. Assist in establishing and maintaining equipment, tools, and supplies in stock, inventories, and logs. Implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan and maintain related records and logs. Help control expenses associated with building operations. Communicate effectively regarding building status and changes. Adhere to all safety standards, policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and best practices. Act professionally and courteously with tenants, clients, co-workers, vendors, and patients. Utilize materials, supplies, tools, and other building property safely and productively. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Essential Skills Experience in HVAC, building maintenance, and maintenance engineering. Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, painting, locksmith, and mechanical troubleshooting. Ability to handle work orders and perform carpentry and drywall repairs. Knowledge of basic HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical school training in maintenance-related courses preferred. CFC Handling Certification preferred. 24-hour availability for emergencies and participation in on-call rotation. Capability to perform extensive walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds. Willingness to work overtime on special projects. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Basic computer skills and ability to learn new job-related software. Why Work Here?
