Maintenance Mechanic Job Description This role is essential in maintaining building operations and ensuring that facilities are safe and functional at all times. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment and systems during both factory runtime and downtime. Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and systems during factory runtime and downtime, making necessary adjustments based on evaluations. Respond to unplanned work orders to quickly and safely bring equipment back to production. Ensure timely completion and detailed documentation of unplanned work orders, including observed problems, actions taken, and any necessary follow-ups. Inspect equipment for wear, metal fatigue, and damage, and perform necessary rebuilds and fabrications. Drive a 'Continuous Improvement' culture by continuously reducing faults. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems. Maintain standard operating conditions of equipment throughout the facility, and repair or replace failed components. Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and read blueprints and PLC ladder logic. Utilize PC skills for planning and closing work orders. Essential Skills Proficiency in troubleshooting, maintenance, pneumatics, and preventive maintenance. Ability to repair and maintain packaging lines and electrical systems. Capability to troubleshoot processing and packaging equipment and work with electrical motors and PLCs. Experience with PLC troubleshooting, reading blueprints, schematics, and understanding mechanical and hydraulic systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Minimum of five years' experience in repairing and troubleshooting production equipment. 2-5 years' experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial facility. Knowledge of electrical systems using 480-volt 3-phase and 240-volt to 24-volt single-phase systems. Experience with variable frequency drives and welding. Bilingual ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus. Physical ability to perform tasks without restrictions, including lifting up to 50 pounds. Why Work Here?
