The Sonnenalp is Looking for an Employee Housing Engineer This position will be open until 63025 or until closed Wage2100 2600 hour Primary Purpose of Position The Housing Maintenance Engineer I is responsible for maintaining and repairing all units the grounds and all common areas at each employee housing property The Housing Maintenance Engineer is to perform all duties as needed under the supervision of the Employee Housing Manager while abiding by the Sonnenalp Hotel policies and standards Essential Duties and Responsibilities Complete work orders assigned by the Employee Housing Manager or other personnelWork unsupervised off site taking the initiative to recognize and complete necessary repairsCoordinate and oversee projects and tasks including but not limited to working with contractors to get estimates and assisting them as needed to get into rooms electrical panels etcPerform basic landscaping including weed eating and removal lawn mowing watering and additional projects as neededMaintain common areas including but not limited to walkways stairways parking areas trash areas and laundry rooms at all employee housing properties as neededSnow removal at employee housing including but not limited to walkways stairways roofs and parking lots ability to operate Bobcat and other snow removal equipment preferredPerform apartment maintenance including heat fireplaces change light bulbs repairing light fixtures and switches bathroom repairs re keying locks make room and mailbox keysReplace andor repair adjustments on all doors windows locks light fixtures and carpentry workCheck and make repairs to all appliances as neededKnow and abide by all Hotel safety and emergency procedures pertaining to fire alarms and safety ability to locate problem area assist Authorities as neededKeep maintenance shop clean and orderlyKeep supplies and parts used regularly in stock and maintain a complete inventory re order parts and supplies as necessaryReport possible maintenance issues and safety hazards to Employee Housing ManagerPlan and undertake scheduled maintenance Carry out quality inspectionsAssist with health and safety legislation complianceFollow up with Employee Housing Manager and tenants concerning progress of work ordersMaintain cleanliness and manage routine maintenance schedules for Engineering vehicleAssist Employee Housing Manager with move in and move out inspectionsAssist Employee Housing Manager with inspectionsPerform any further duties as required by the Employee Housing ManagerAssist the Engineering staff in the hotel and other areas within the property as neededEducationExperience High School Diploma or equivalent GEDMinimum 1 2 years of experience in a hotel or property management Engineering departmentExperience in painting drywall repair electrical plumbing appliance repair and routine maintenance preferredSpecial SkillsEquipment Basic knowledge of plumbing electrical systems and construction requiredAbility to work independently and under minimal supervisionMust have a valid Drivers License and clean driving recordStrong attention to safetyHigh level of attention to detailAbility to operate snow removal equipment bobcat or truck with plow preferredHVAC experience preferredOSHA certification preferredMust be congenial and able to interact with employees in a friendly and helpful mannerMust be able to work a flexible schedule and assist in the hotel as neededEssential Physical Requirements Frequent exposure to dust dirt noise water and chemicalsRequired to work outside in all weather conditionsMust be able to lift carry push and pull material weighing up to 100 lbsMust be able to work under conditions requiring prolonged standing lengthy walking frequent bending stretching crawling through tight spaces and working up to rooftop levelAbility to distinguish colors and symbolsEmployee Conduct It is the responsibility of every employee to contribute to a positive work environment through cooperative and professional interactions with co workers guests and vendorsFull Time Hourly Benefits Medical Dental Vision InsuranceResort DiscountsHoliday Pay Paid Time Off and Sick Pay401k Retirement Plan & Roth 401kVoluntary Life InsuranceShort Term & Long Term DisabilityEmployee Assistance ProgramParking Credit or Discounted Bus Passes
