Job Overview:

Utility Composites, Inc is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Injection Molding Maintenance Technician/Mechanic/Millwright to join our team.  The ideal candidate must have a strong background in hands-on maintaining and troubleshooting injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime. This is a small operation, and this person will work independently to diagnose, prioritize, repair, and maintain all equipment and some building systems. This is not a management position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and all repairs on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment (dryers, granulators, conveyors, ovens, cyclone, loaders…) to ensure efficient operation and so equipment is kept in top condition.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic issues in a timely manner, including oil leaks.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering to identify and implement improvements in machine performance.
  • Conduct all scheduled preventive maintenance to extend the lifespan of machinery and equipment and allow for maximum production time.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of preventive maintenance activities and repairs in our computer maintenance system.
  • Follow standard safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Building maintenance: A/C filter replacement and condensate line, light bulb/ballast replacement, water filter changes, keyless entry system, plus any minor building system repairs.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Injection Molding machine and auxiliary equipment maintenance.
  • Proficient in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which will include squatting, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus technical degree or certification in a related field.
  • Completion of an industrial maintenance apprenticeship program (civilian or military).

Experience

  • Mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic experience:  5 years
  • Plastics injection molding experience: 5 years (preferred)
  • PCL experience (preferred)
