POSITION PURPOSE
The Trailer Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning and monitoring trailer repairs and maintenance used in the haul department. This position is responsible for training and developing trailer technicians on the team and managing the use of outside service providers when needed for major repairs beyond internal capability or capacity. This position is also responsible for developing and tracking stocked repair parts and consumables.
RESPONSIBILITIES
?\tMonitor and track trailers in need of repairs preventing their usage.
?\tDevelop and maintain a schedule to complete regular inspections and repairs needed.
?\tManage annual DOT inspections on trailers to keep current.
?\tIdentify and stock all needed tools and supplies for efficient repairs.
?\tWork along side trailer technicians during peak demands and tight timelines to keep load deliveries on schedule.
?\tIdentify when a repair needs to be performed by an outside service provider.
?\tAssist with inspecting trailers being considered for purchase.
?\tKeep any vehicles in the department maintained and in good working order.
?\tEvaluate trailer technician training/development required.
?\tWork with Transportation Supervisor/Manager to track trailer repairs performed.
?\tDrive safe work practices.
?\tAdhere to environmental and stormwater pollution prevention policies.
?\tHousekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
?\tMust adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
