This position encompasses both administrative and technical work directing a complex program of building maintenance and heating and utility operations for the housing authority. As the Assistant Maintenance Superintendent, you will oversee fifteen maintenance employees and three administrative staff in the CSS department. An employee in this class is responsible for assisting the maintenance superintendent in planning, supervising and coordinating maintenance and repair operations. Major emphasis of the work is directing and coordinating the functions of building maintenance, grounds keeping and heating plan operation. You will have the opportunity to oversee the acquisition and distribution of the fiscal, material and manpower resources to provide for preventive, operational, and emergency plant maintenance. Communication is key as you will interact with vendors, contractors and other departments in addition to responding to inquiries or complaints from the public or other agencies.
Other duties to include but not limited to:
- Assigning tasks to staff, monitoring performance and providing training
- Ensuring work is performed in accordance with safety regulation and quality standards
- Maintaining records related to equipment, maintenance schedules, staff attendance, and work completed
- Preparing reports and assisting in the development of budgets
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the maintenance and repair or construction of buildings or facilities.
- College or technical school study with major emphasis on mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering or the engineering or construction technologies may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required non-supervisory experience.
