Maintenance Mechanic Job Description As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for overseeing all projects, repairs, and improvements on the production line, including mold changes and preventative maintenance. Your role is crucial in ensuring the proper and safe operational conditions of all production and related equipment. Responsibilities Recommend, plan, repair, modify, make, install, and adjust necessary elements following a problem or project to influence productivity. Assist in updating, developing, and improving equipment preventative maintenance programs. Direct and advise production employees while working on repairs. Assist and train production employees on machine conversions and preventative maintenance. Ensure cleanliness of all equipment and related areas after repairs or preventative maintenance. Communicate to supervisors regarding the condition of all production equipment. Assist in maintaining an appropriate stock of spare parts. Assist Maintenance Electrician in investigating electrical-related problems. Collaborate with the maintenance team on repairs, preventative maintenance, installation, commissioning, and testing. Review all machine safety procedures (Lockout/Tagout) and general safety procedures including fire evacuation, accident reporting, and all aspects of the safety contract. Essential Skills Knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics. Basic knowledge in electricity and controls. Prior maintenance/mechanical experience with a minimum of 2 years or a certificate in maintenance. Forklift Certified and Elevated Lift Certified. Additional Skills & Qualifications Physical requirements include pushing/pulling, hand/eye coordination, stooping, bending, walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, climbing.
