The 150 Civil Engineering Flight (150 CEF) provides maintenance and construction support for the NM Air National Guard. The 150 CEF is customer-based organization supporting all units with small to large scale requirements related to federal real property. The 150 CEF provides all HVAC, electrical, structural, janitorial, grounds, environmental and construction to support the ongoing Intel Squadron, RED HORSE squadron, 150 Mission Support Group, 150 Medical Training Group and HC-130J flying missions.
Why does the job exist?
This position works directly for the Staff Manager with the majority of job responsibilities conducted in the field with the maintenance crew. Assists Staff Manager in supporting and supervising workers who perform various carpentry, custodial, electrical, plumbing, painting, grounds heating & air conditioning, and structural related work. Assists Staff Manager in monitoring scheduling of work, developing plans, budgets, or reports, investigation of accidents or incidents and receive visiting officials.
How does it get done?
This position will perform a variety of supervisory tasks such as, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations, recommend disciplinary actions, conduct training for employees. and assign daily work orders to employees. Provides coaching and training for employees. Directs or participates in maintenance repair and grounds keeping duties to include spraying of weeds and use of chemicals. Inspects work of maintenance and repair workers to ensure projects are completed properly, efficiently and in compliance with established standards and codes. Places orders for parts and materials for Maintenance staff. Generates work orders and assigned work to appropriate team members. Recommend upgrades, overhauls, and other changes to major systems and equipment. Communicates directly with building managers to resolve service requests. Help with the development of maintenance procedures and proactive maintenance programs like preventative maintenance. Frequently inspect facilities to proactively detect potential problems and recommend the necessary repair or maintenance. Coordinates the installation, maintenance, and repair work in buildings. Prepare maintenance schedules in line with the organization's maintenance goals and monitoring PM compliance. Research equipment and material needed to complete assigned work orders or preventative maintenance. The maintenance and repair supervisor will act as the Maintenance Manager during scheduled and unforeseen absence.

Ideal Candidate
Self starter and hard worker, must be able to learn and operate in government databases. Must be able to hold and maintain government clearance and pass background investigation. The ideal candidate will have:
- Five (5)+ years in facilities maintenance
- Five (5)+ years in HVAC repair;
- Five (5) years in a supervisory or management position
- Basic understanding of various trades within construction
- Professional administrative and computer experience desirable
Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma or Equivalent and one (1) year of experience in general buildings and grounds maintenance, custodial duties, construction, or appliance repair. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Employment is subject to background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with no limitations or restrictions. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work may be performed indoors and outdoors; lifting, climbing, walking; exposure to hazards such as boilers, dust, high noise levels, fumes and rodents. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. On call 24/7 during inclement weather.
