Job Overview**
This position supports the overall maintenance and operations of the property by performing basic repairs, routine preventative maintenance, floor care, and responding to guest requests. It plays an essential role in maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all guests and team members.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Perform routine maintenance throughout the property (painting, carpet/floor cleaning, etc.) following maintenance schedules.
- Repair and program hotel electronic lock system.
- Assist with HVAC systems checks and basic troubleshooting.
- Assists with guest requests and maintenance issues.
- Perform scheduled inspections of safety systems (fire extinguishers, exit lighting, etc).
- Track and log maintenance activities and completed work orders in property management system.
- Follows regulations on all equipment operations and reports any unsafe condition to Chief Engineer.
- Completes appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.
- Maintains all engineering/maintenance storage areas and ensures a clean, organized and safe environment.
- Maintains indoor pool and spa.
- General upkeep of the grounds (signage, trash, parking lot, etc.).
- Clean and maintain hotel floors as assigned.
- Follows company procedures for handling emergency situations.
- Protect

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Time management and prioritization skills.
- Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must have excellent guest service skills and be comfortable engaging with colleagues and guests.
- Basic computational skills, such as addition, subtraction, and division of numbers.
- Basic knowledge of terminology, equipment and tools used in maintenance repair, building construction, and facilities systems.
- Ability to work independently with minima supervision and as part of a team.
- Awareness of OSHA safety regulations and application in daily tasks.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules is necessary.
- Operate equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
*Physical demands:*
- Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
- Position requires extensive mobility, up to 8 hours in length at a time.
- Must be able to position oneself to complete daily duties.
- Ability to handle tools and machinery requiring fine motor coordination.
- Must be able to climb to unusual heights on ladders, transport/maneuver moderate to heavy amounts of weight, and to operate assigned equipment and vehicles.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis and maneuver carts and equipment weighing up to 250 pounds frequently.
**Qualifications and Requirements:**
A high school or equivalent education is required. Technical training at an accredited junior college or technical center is preferred.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
