Position Summary
- Responsible for following all health and safety guidelines and reporting any issues to supervisor.
- Inspect equipment for proper functional use and perform preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications.
- Inspect, diagnose, and perform repair and maintenance of all plant equipment, using a variety of hand tools, power tools, shop machines, hoists, etc.
- Install and replace bearings, speed reducers, shafts, pulleys, idlers, motors, couplings, etc.
- Make major repairs to crushers, changing jaw dies, bearings, bushings, crusher bowls/mantles, etc.
- Repair conveyor belts, feeders, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform repair and maintenance involving disassembly, overhaul, assembly, and adjustments of crushing and screening or mobile equipment components.
- Maintain proper tool/parts inventory for specified jobs.
- Complete maintenance projects in a timely manner to ensure production goals.
- Maintain up to date written or data input spreadsheets on all equipment repairs.
- Ensure that all equipment repairs are performed accurately to the manufacturer standards.
- Performs other miscellaneous mechanical and maintenance duties as assigned.
- Upgrade areas with new equipment/technology
- Work with outside contractors on special projects as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Math skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using Imperial units of measure.
- Formal technical training preferred.
- Knowledge of safety rules and regulations - OSHA, MSHA
- Flexible with work hours mandatory - Monday thru Saturday
- Overtime will be required when needed.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a mechanic/repair person in an aggregate quarry or in a related industry.
- CCO Certified - TLL, TSS designations a positive
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical moving parts (chains, bearings and rollers).
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems and centrifugal/ vertical pumps a positive
- Must be proficient at both ARC and MIG welding.
- Experienced in parts organizing and ordering.
- Experienced in Preventative Maintenance Programs.
- Ability to work in confined and small spaces, work from heights.
- Comfortable working on water and operating a boat.
- Will operate heavy equipment (loader) when needed.
- Must be computer proficient.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
