The Position
Are you looking for a long-term career? The individual hired for this position will perform maintenance work and operate equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of City water, sewer, street, and storm drainage facilities and systems, as well as assisting in the installation of water meters.
Will train the right candidate! Advancement opportunities available. Candidates with water/sewer maintenance experience may be eligible for pay increases during first year of employment.
Location and Hours
This full-time position is located at the Public Works Facility at 1313 W. 1
stStreet. Work hours are scheduled Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and include rotating on-call hours.

Full-time employees receive vacation leave, sick leave, 8 paid holidays per year, paid personal holidays, plus on-call pay, potential overtime and compensatory time. FSA and supplemental insurance is also available.
In this Position, you Will
- Inspect and repair water, sewer, and drainage systems; replace and relocate water and sewer lines.
- Operate power construction and maintenance equipment to repair water and sewer systems.
- Perform jetting of all sewer lines yearly; repair and test water meters; drive trucks of various sizes and weights.
- Work as part of a crew in pavement cutting, ditch digging, cleaning, pipe repair, patching and painting.
Need to Have
- Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent.
- One (1) year of construction or maintenance experience involving public works, sewer or water maintenance is preferred.
Special Requirements
Valid State Drivers license and CDL certification, or ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of hire; ability to obtain two of the following: Nebraska Grade 4 Water License, Grade 6 Backflow License, Lagoon Wastewater License. This position is covered under FMCSA and includes drug and alcohol testing as required.
