MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
The City of Greer is accepting applications for a Maintenance Supervisor in our Engineering Department.
Responsibilities: Supervises, coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed to all maintenance and custodial staff; Various hands-on maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of city facilities, diagnosing problems and making repairs as necessary in electrical, plumbing, flooring, carpentry, drywall, painting and exterior structures; Assists in managing third party contractors as needed; Once Superintendent approval is given, coordinates with the Business License and Permit Offices before proceeding with third party work. May be asked to select, order, and inventory custodial and maintenance supplies, materials, and equipment as needed. Provides overall maintenance of heating and air conditioning systems to include filter changes and coil cleaning on all air conditioning equipment as needed. Inspects and performs preventative maintenance on emergency generators, elevators, fire extinguishers regularly. Responds to specific building service requests and takes corrective actions. Prioritizes needs and adjusts schedules accordingly. Provides plumbing and electrical repairs and maintenance as required. Serves as primary contact for all building repairs and maintenance issues and is on-call as necessary. Maintains the preventative maintenance schedule program for applicable equipment and machinery. Ensures all facilities maintenance, inspections, preventative maintenance and repair activities are properly entered in the asset tracking software (currently Cartegraph).
Job Requirements: Associate’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the building maintenance field with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Must be skilled in all areas of facilities maintenance to include electrical, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical. Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
Hours : 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday; on-call as necessary.
Salary: Minimum salary $49,248; dependent on experience
