JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 JOB SUMMARY: Assists foreman in training new staff, coordinating service with vendors, maintaining work assignments and equipment preventive maintenance scheduled necessary to direct the activities of a well-run and efficient department. Uses proper maintenance techniques and follows Department Policies and Procedures to maintain the facility and all equipment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. Three years required in maintaining utilities systems such as chillers, generators, steam and heating boilers, HVAC systems, Medical Gas Systems, etc. Prefer background in healthcare facilities. A universal certification "A" as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F in the field of refrigerant transition and recovery is required. A minimum certification of 3rd class stationary engineering in boilers or air conditioning through the City of New Orleans or obtain certification within 120 days of hire. State Plumbing Board of Louisiana Medical Gas Maintainer License or obtain within 1 year of hire. Must have a valid and current state issued driver's license. Must maintain and provide proof of automobile insurance (at his/her own expense) in amounts which meet at least the minimum liability coverage limits required by the state of their residence. Clearance of driving record check; Driving records shall not contain any of the following: a suspended or revoked driver's license, 3 or more moving violations in the past 36 months, 2 or more accidents in the past 36 months, 1 or more instances of driving under the influence (DUI) or driving while intoxicated (DWI) within the past 24 months, at fault in a fatal accident within the past 5 years, leaving the scene of an accident within the past 36 months, and/or reckless driving within the past 12 months. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 100 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise. Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, talking, hearing, seeing Frequently (34%-66%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, handling/feeling Occasionally (1%-33%) - crawling EMPLOYMENT Each St. Tammany Health System staff member is expected to conduct himself or herself according to our mission, vision and values.
