Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with some weekends

Job Summary
Responsible for the effective, efficient and safe maintenance, renovation and upkeep of parish buildings and grounds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Keeps parish grounds neat and presentable (i.e. regular mowing, leaf blowing and trash pick-up, tree care, hardscape, maintenance of property flowerbeds, plants, and grass, etc.) and general landscape maintenance tasks*
- Responsible for safe and efficient use of heavy and light equipment, machinery and hand tools including mowers, trimming equipment, pressure washers, etc.
- Performs basic carpentry, drywall, painting*
- Responsible for setting up and organization of campus hall and Annex meeting rooms*
- Assists in the quarterly parish clean up volunteer opportunities
- Performs/arranges routine equipment preventive maintenance checks and/or notify the facility manager when equipment needs to be replaced
- Coordinates safety and security procedures as well as specialized needs
- Helps with development and implementation of procedures to address problems that arise within the facilities, consistent with parish and Diocese guidelines
- Completes promptly Work Order Forms submitted to maintenance personnel
- Maintains the current level of knowledge and skills required to perform the job. Attend workshops and classes on as needed basis. Maintains membership/affiliation with appropriate professional organizations
- Respond to facility alarms, alerts and system failures
- Provide prompt response to requests and issues
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes
- Will at times be working at any of three parish properties in a team effort with the rest of maintenance personnel at the Main Campus, the Annex Property and Parish Cemetery

Requirements
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; and crouch/ crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 25-50 pounds.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions wet and/or hot, humid; high places; and work with various chemicals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years' experience in building and equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to communicate with various levels of staff
- Ability to work from ladders, adjust to height and close quarters, withstand heat and cold, good eye-hand coordination and flexibility. Ability to safely lift to 50 pounds.
