Description
Essential Functions:
Repairs and maintains environmental control systems and related mechanical and motorized equipment for multiple facilities
Examples of Duties
Examples of Work:
UNDER GENERAL DIRECTION
Replaces and repairs circulating pump systems
Maintains and repairs large heating and cooling units, fan motors, and associated electrical systems
Develops and implements a comprehensive program of scheduled preventative maintenance
Schedules maintenance and repairs so as to minimize patron discomfort
Makes recommendations regarding equipment modification or replacement
Coordinates the use of outside contractors
Monitors the work of outside contractors for acceptable work standards, and conformance to the completion timetable
Coordinates and performs minor plumbing repairs
Acts as a Crew Leader for certain projects
Keeps up to date maintenance schedules, records and equipment, and equipment logs
Responds to calls for emergency repairs
Performs related work
Minimum Requirements
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Travels to various locations
Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and climbing
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds in a team setting
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or the equivalent
Two years of experience in the repair and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems servicing large buildings or facilities
Other Minimums:
Completion of an apprenticeship or formal training program in the maintenance and repair of Environmental Control Systems
Periodic emergency call out
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Equivalency:
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
