Seasonal Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) - No CDL Required, PNs: 20078939, 20078937, 20074723, 20057115

ODOT District 12 - Lake County - Painesville; 4 positions available.

What You Will Do:

You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.

You will perform highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing.

This is a seasonal position limited to 1,000 hours.

Qualifications

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. In accordance with Section 124.11(B)(2) of Revised Code, Director of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination. Note: If involved in driving motorized snow & ice control equipment, must also have valid commercial driver's license.

Supplemental Information

This is a seasonal position limited to 1,000 hours.

This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.

All final applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis to test for illegal drug use prior to appointments. An applicant with a positive test shall not be offered employment. This position is also subject to federal testing regulations pursuant to 49 CFR Part 40 (Federal Drug and Alcohol Regulations) and 49 CFR Part 382 (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) which prohibits the use of marijuana, including medical marijuana. Medical marijuana is prohibited as a valid medical explanation for a positive drug test for final applicants in this position.
