Position Title: General Maintenance Tech

Position Accountable To: Maintenance Supervisor

GENERAL SUMMARY:

General maintenance work to include, but not limited to, preventive maintenance and repair on mechanical equipment, plumbing, electrical, air-conditioning and heating systems. Duties may also include door, window and hardware repair, light carpentry, drywall and painting.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform assigned building rounds weekly.
• Perform and complete corrective preventive maintenance as assigned.
• Assist with and/or install and maintain basic electrical systems.
• Assist with and repair work on steam boilers, chillers, air handlers, fans, etc.
• Assist with and Install and maintain plumbing systems, including steam, sanitary, potable water, and natural gas.
• Assist with and/or Install plumbing fixtures. Unclog drain lines and repair water leaks.
• Assist with and/or maintain kitchen equipment.
• Assist with and/or Maintain fire protection equipment.
• Assist with and/or maintain doors, windows, keys and hardware.
• Assist with painting, drywall, cabinets, counter tops, furniture repair.
• Perform duties in a safe and competent manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School or GED
• Minimum of 5 years experience or trade school

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift 75lbs.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Must be able to use scissor and boom lifts at heights at and above 60 feet.
• Must be able to work in enclosed areas such as utility tunnels and attic spaces.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Perform other tasks as assigned such as assist in snow removal and set ups.

OTHER INFORMATION AND ATTRIBUTES:

Be able to report for work during an emergency situation when needed after hours or on weekends.

Able to work in a variety of climate extremes.
