Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Welder to join a leading technology company in Chelmsford, MA. This is an exciting contract opportunity with the potential for long-term employment. The ideal candidate will have experience welding small micro parts with a focus on precision, quality, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform laser welding of microelectronic assemblies to create hermetic seals using automated machines, leak check devices, and vacuum ovens.
Operate specialized equipment including laser welding machines, mechanical presses, and inert gas gloveboxes.
Troubleshoot assemblies that fail leak checks and perform various microelectronic assembly tasks.
Assemble electronic components and sub-assemblies per work instructions and engineering drawings.
Adjust machine settings to maintain optimal product quality.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and process documentation.
Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment to ensure consistent performance.
Accurately document production processes and data.
Collaborate with team members to support throughput and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security clearance (Requires US Citizenship)
Experience operating laser welding and TIG welding equipment for precision work on small/micro parts.
Basic computer skills for navigating digital systems (e.g., timekeeping, work instructions).
Proficient in basic math for measurements and calculations.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine operations.
High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
Familiarity with ESD procedures and machine safety protocols.
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a desire to grow professionally.
High school diploma or GED required.
Candidates must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
