Minimum Qualifications:
Two years (2) employment experience working in a professional environment
Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
High School Diploma or GED
Maintain a Florida drivers license
Successfully pass Level 1 and Level 2 Background Checks
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
One or more years of working in the State of Floridas People First system
One or more years of experience working with People First Talent Management
One or more years of supervising a team
Requirements:
Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory Level 1 and Level 2 background check at no cost to the candidate. Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Not eligible for Telework. Responses to qualifying questions should be verified by skills and/or experience stated on the profile application/resume. Position Overview and Responsibilities:
Ability to lead a small Maintenance team in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment and other miscellaneous items as directed. This includes performing preventative maintenance on all buildings and related equipment.
Be an active member of the FWRI Facilities Leadership Team
Complete all required FWC/FWRI Supervisors Training in the first 90 days
Perform minor repairs on all plumbing, electrical and communication equipment. Perform repair/alterations of building woodwork (partitions, door, cabinets, and special scientific furniture at FWRI St. Pete and field labs).
Lead and direct the assigned OPS Maintenance Mechanics as needed
Prepare and paint interior and exterior of buildings and equipment and other miscellaneous item as directed at FWRI St. Pete and field labs.
Understand and ensure the whole team compliance with all safety related rules to include OSHA, NFPA, and FWRI
Perform/assist in hurricane preparedness program.
Perform setup and take down of Marine Quest outreach project and work overtime as needed.
Assist with HVAC maintenance and operations.
Access the facilities work order system, with use of smart phone and/or computer.
Complete assigned inspections and create additional work orders as needed.
Install, maintain, and repair valves, faucets, traps, sinks, water closets and urinals.
Perform general carpentry work in the alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings, floors, doors, and windows.
Repair defective components in fluorescent light fixtures, replace burned out bulbs, and replace defective switches and receptacles.
Will manage regional construction projects with the assistance of FWRI Construction Manager.
Relocate furniture and equipment from building to building as required.
Take pride in personal appearance and perform all duties with a commitment to excellence.
Perform other related facilities duties as required.
