Maintenance Mechanic
General Functions:
Repairs and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment. Such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments. Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Responsibilities:
Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools.
Starts devices to test their performance.
May initiate purchase order for parts and machines.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment.
Must comply with work order system to include interpreting work orders, performing work requested and completing work orders per instructions.
Will do both electrical and mechanical repairs
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
At least 6 months of related experience and/or training.
Ability to read, write, and interprets documents.
Ability to speak effectively before groups.
Basic algebra and geometry
Physical Demands:
Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Vision abilities required such as: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, handle, and reach with hands and arms.
