Maintenance Worker I

Performs essential maintenance services in County parks that support the quality of life for Palm Beach County residents and visitors by providing safe, clean, and welcoming parks/facilities. Performs a wide variety of custodial and customer service-related activities at the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) Therapeutic Recreation Complex. Maintains the interior and exterior of the facility, restrooms, offices, public areas, kitchen, office, parking lot, and grounds. Sets up and tears down events according to specified floor plans. Sets up, operates, and maintains audio-visual equipment, scoreboard, volleyball net, basketball hoops, and other athletic equipment.

QUALIFICATION:

Minimum of six (6) months of experience in general laboring work, including construction, maintenance, service, and activities.

PREFERENCE FOR (1) ONE YEAR OF EXPERIENCE WITH: Custodial maintenance and cleaning; operating various cleaning machines (e.g., carpet/floor cleaners, pressure washers, floor buffers) (must specify on application); minor building repairs. Also desirable: Customer service experience handling concerns and/or complaints in person and over the telephone (must specify on application), experience working with individuals with disabilities (must specify on application); experience recognizing and utilizing a floor plan to set up and tear down in preparation for facility use; First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED)/Bloodborne Path Certification.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
