Heavy Equipment Mechanic**
**Job Description**
This role involves performing mechanical and electrical tune-ups, diagnostics, parts installation, general upkeep, and repair of various mobile equipment. Equipment types include diesel engine trucks, flatbed trailers, belly dump trailers, forklifts, front-end loaders, bobcat loaders, and gas-powered generators. The mechanic position focuses on completing mechanical and electrical repairs of diesel forklift equipment around the plant, supporting the facility's operations. Diagnosis and preventive maintenance are crucial components of this job.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform mechanical and electrical tune-ups and diagnostics.
+ Install parts and conduct general upkeep and repair of mobile equipment.
+ Repair and maintain diesel engine trucks, trailers, forklifts, loaders, and generators.
+ Complete mechanical and electrical repairs of diesel forklift equipment.
+ Support facility operations through equipment maintenance.
+ Conduct diagnosis and preventive maintenance tasks.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in diesel and forklift mechanics.
+ Strong mechanical and maintenance skills.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and perform electrical repair.
+ Competence in blueprint reading, welding, and fabrication.
+ Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
+ Experience with troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
+ Knowledge of schematics and industrial equipment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma or GED plus trade school.
+ Previous manufacturing or industrial background is a plus.
+ Licenses or certifications are a plus.
+ Technician level with strong electrical skills.
+ Ability to weld and fabricate using stick SMAW.
