POSITION SUMMARY

Borden Dairy is seeking a safety-conscious and quality-driven Lead Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will lead and perform maintenance activities to ensure that all equipment used in the production, packaging, and distribution of our products operates efficiently and safely. Your contributions will directly support our commitment to delivering high-quality dairy products to our customers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Maintenance Manager in training maintenance personnel, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring effective use of equipment and labor.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all production and shipping equipment is properly maintained and fully operational.
• Stay current on all maintenance functions and provide assistance to other mechanics as needed.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment.
• Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company safety and security policies.
• Consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Comply with all food safety and quality standards, including regulatory, customer, and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) requirements.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and maintain consistent work hours.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; capable of performing basic mathematical calculations and accurately recording data. Bilingual skills are beneficial.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and various shifts as required.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Forklift and/or pallet jack certification (provided by the company).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, climbing, pulling, and bending.
• Ability to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to work for extended periods in cold, damp environments.
