The Maintenance Supervisor (Shop A) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all maintenance operations within the shop, including the Allied Trades section, which encompasses the machine shop, welding shop, and paint shop. This role ensures that equipment is properly scheduled and processed for repair in alignment with contract requirements and mission priorities. The Supervisor effectively manages personnel, repair parts, facilities, and tools to ensure timely and efficient completion of maintenance tasks. A basic understanding of the Global Combat Support SystemArmy (GCSS-A) is required to support accurate work order management, parts requisitioning, and labor tracking. Additionally, the Maintenance Supervisor must be available to initiate and support the Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) on-call roster as needed.

Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

+ Manages resources (personnel, repair parts, facilities, and tools) to ensure all repairs and services are completed in accordance with contract requirements.

+ Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment in support of open work orders, ensuring quality and timeliness of service.

+ Provides guidance and troubleshooting support for the diagnostics, and repair of mechanical and support equipment.

+ Supervises equipment testing procedures to ensure compliance with technical and safety standards.

+ Conducts post-repair equipment testing to verify operational readiness and quality of work performed.

+ Prioritizes maintenance workloads and adjusts resource allocation based on mission requirements and equipment criticality.

+ Ensures accurate and timely maintenance of work orders in accordance with governing regulations and procedures.

+ Serves as the primary point of contact between internal teams and external stakeholders until repairs are complete.

+ Tracks, analyzes, and reports maintenance metrics, including man-hour utilization, backlog, and operational performance.

+ Prepares and maintains required production and status reports for leadership and contract oversight.

+ Plans, directs, and manages personnel, tools, and facility resources to meet maintenance goals and performance standards.

+ Manages the timecard review and approval process to ensure labor accuracy and compliance.

+ Oversees operations of the Allied Trades section, including the machine shop, welding shop, and paint shop, ensuring all tasks are executed safely and effectively.

+ Initiate the Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) on-call roster to support 24/7 emergency maintenance response.

Material & Equipment Directly Used:

+ Utilizes a variety of shop tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery commonly found in maintenance and allied trades environments.

+ Operates a desktop computer and multifunctional office devices for administrative and maintenance tracking tasks.

+ Steel-toe safety footwear may be required during shop operations. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory in designated areas and may include, but is not limited to face masks, hard hats, safety footwear, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection, as appropriate for the task and environment.

Physical Requirements:

+ Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

+ Must be able to function in office environment in a stationary position for extended periods of time.

+ The Maintenance Supervisor must possess sufficient visual acuity to effectively oversee and inspect maintenance operations. This includes the ability to observe and evaluate work performed on machinery such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills, often at close range. The Supervisor must be capable of visually assessing mechanical, technical, and skilled trade tasks to ensure work quality, compliance with safety standards, and adherence to technical specifications.

Working Environment:

+ A normal work week is 40 hours (5 days a week).

+ Must be willing to work additional hours when mission requires.

+ Work will typically be conducted in a temperature-controlled office environment in a stationary position approximately 75 percent of the time or more with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

+ Employee may occasionally be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.

+ The worker is subject to sufficient noise that may cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.

+ The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

+ The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications:

+ Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Army Logistics, Maintenance and Materiel Readiness Operations.

+ Must have or able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

+ Valid Real ID state drivers license required.

+ Must be able to pass the standard background check.

+ Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Education/Certifications:

+ The Maintenance Supervisor (Shop A) must be highly qualified with general supervisory experience.

+ Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in first-line supervision of fleet/equipment management/maintenance.

+ Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with a strong background in maintenance shop operations and workforce management.

+ Must have specific supervisory experience in maintenance shop operations and in-depth technical knowledge concerning the repair of Army Materiel and COTS equipment.

+ Must have prior experience similar to that of a CMF 63/92 Mechanical Maintenance career field supervisor.

+ Must have a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, and procedures dealing with Army Materiel Maintenance Management.

+ Must have an operational knowledge of the use of the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) and other related logistics information systems.

+ Capable of executing maintenance-related transactions and functions within the Global Combat Support SystemArmy (GCSS-Army), including work order processing, labor reporting, and parts requisitioning.

+ Extensive technical expertise in the maintenance and repair of Army materiel, including both tactical and non-tactical equipment.

+ Demonstrated ability to provide technical oversight and guidance for the inspection, diagnostics, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling systems, as well as major components of commercial vehicles, tactical equipment, and power generation systems.

+ Proficient in analyzing, interpreting, and applying U.S. Army Technical Manuals to support maintenance procedures and troubleshooting.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines in a high-paced maintenance environment.
