Kitchen Mechanic ( Level 1 )

Summary:

The Kitchen Mechanic (Level 1) maintains and repairs all types of commercial kitchen equipment and systems, including but not limited to refrigeration, 120-480 volt electrical, and low-pressure steam equipment, and auxiliary equipment such as water filtration, water softeners, and compressed air systems.

Responsibilities:

• Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions. 
• Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas. 
• Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
• Maintains an accurate and legible logbook on daily activities. 
• Removes and replaces worn or defective parts. 
• Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repairs.
• Repairs broken parts.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when working with electrical, gas, and other potentially hazardous systems
• Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment and supplies and generate requisitions for replenishment.
• Coordination: Coordinate large installations and deep cleaning of equipment
• Performs all other duties as assigned. 

 Experience/Qualifications:

• 1+ years of kitchen mechanic experience repairing kitchen equipment required, preferably in a commercial kitchen setting.
• Ability to lift- up to 50 lbs. consistently and 75 lbs. infrequently.
• Must be able to legally work in the USA.

 Education and Certification(s)/License(s):

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
