Natural Bridge State Resort Park is located next to the Red River Gorge National Geological area in Slade, Kentucky. Named after the 78-foot long and 65 feet high Sandstone Arche located on the Park, Natural Bridge State Resort Park offers over 20 miles of scenic hiking trails for visitors of all ages. Primary duties of the Facility Maintenance Worker II position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assist the Facility Maintenance Supervisor by coordinating tasks of workers.
• Delegation of work orders and troubleshooting requests of the park staff and guests.
• Perform maintenance duties such as maintaining systems, repairing equipment, and troubleshooting maintenance work requests.
• Assist in prioritizing supply expenditures and planning for budgeted maintenance needs.
• Maintenance and renovation of guest areas.
• Perform janitorial and roadway maintenance tasks such as snow removal and plumbing repair.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: NONE

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.E

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.

Working Conditions

Incumbents in this job title may be exposed to extreme temperatures which requires the following of safety procedures. Must follow safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection, when utilizing certain mechanical equipment.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
